Written by Max in 1980 and newly arranged for the album Story of My Life.

"This was written in my Dolores Street studio, my first home in San Francisco, in the aftermath of a brief but intense love affair with an art student from the East Coast."

"It was recorded by the first version of Terra Incognita and by Our Camp, a project at CalArts, but it was only performed once, at Terra Incognita's debut at San Francisco's Club Foot in February 1981."

Lyrics

Tell me a story
don't be sorry
to leave no stone unturned

Tell me a story
don't you worry
my bridges have been burned

Many were called but few were chosen
You will leave alone tonight

You touch my throat
your hands are cold
let me help you with the light

Tell me a story
don't be sorry
to leave no stone unturned

Tell me a story
don't you worry
my bridges have been burned

Many were called but few were chosen
You will leave alone tonight

You touch my throat
your hands are cold
it is the story of my life
