Written by Max in 1980 and newly arranged for the 2012 release.
"This is one of a few dozen catchy punk and new wave songs that I wrote when I first moved to San Francisco. But along with the post-punk scene I was part of, my music was evolving rapidly, becoming more experimental, and this tune was never completed, recorded or performed until now."
Lyrics
Though the dawn
Seems as far away as Mercury or Mars,
And the armies of the night obscure the stars,
Don't despair -
'Til somebody cares,
You've got to carry on.
And though they say
You're just a paranoid in paradise,
You're just afraid to get bitten by that gift horse twice,
They've got your number,
You'd better change it,
To keep those rude boys away.
You're an outcast child,
You're nobody's idea of fun,
And that's how I know
You'll be the one.
I've got my course set for you,
Across this dark and stormy sea,
'Cause baby you and me,
Girl we got a date with destiny.
