Composed by Max in 1980 and newly arranged for the album Take Me Up.

"After climbing a Guatemalan volcano, I ended up in a remote native village, lying in a room over a narrow back street, weakened and delirious with amoebic dysentery, while a transistor radio outside played the same monotonous Latin tune over and over for hours, progressively driving me crazy.

"I composed the rudiments of this piece via multiple overdubs bounced between two cassette decks, and it was performed by Terra Incognita at our debut show at Club Foot in February 1981. In 2009 I created this more complete arrangement, incorporating some traditional Russian melodies which I had picked up in childhood from my parents’ records."
