Incomplete!

In dominant socities, knowledge comes from science, which is based on wealth and advanced technology. As we have learned, many societies have thrived without these advantages. How do they know the world? What ways of knowing the world are truly universal, and thus can easily be shared and used to achieve consensus?

We learn healthy behavior by observing healthy ecosystems and communities. Non-human members of healthy ecosystems - our ecosystem partners - along with other healthy human societies - are our best teachers.

Humans are social animals:

  • Depending on our communities to provide our social needs
  • Depending on natural habitats to provide our physical needs

Hence our most accurate knowledge, and our most effective wisdom, is communal and shared by means of oral culture and communal memory.
