Introduction:

Please note that as mentioned above that this is only a draft manuscript. It was created between 1993 and 1998, when I had the pleasure of living in Foster City in a second story apartment with a small deck that faced the San Francisco Bay. The Bay being just across the road and over the low levee. Bird-watching from one's own little deck. This is a "snapshot in time" and should be regarded as a historical document. Undoubtedly, local development in Foster City continues onward to this day, and constricts space for wildlife.
