The Mount Lebanon minute.

by James K. Sayre

Marveling at how very long it took for the second hand to complete one revolution on the large black-and-white school clock on the wall of our second grade classroom in Mount Lebanon. Clock-watching for me began in that second grade classroom located on the north side of the first floor of the Washington Elementary School in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. I'm not sure why I had time to stare at the clock; maybe I had completed the classroom assignment early. Time moved very slowly in second grade. It was a Mt. Lebanon minute.

End.
