The Federal government is planning on ending all traditional over-the-air free television broadcasts on 19 February 2009. They plan to replace the analog broadcasting television signals with new digital signals that will require that millions of Americans, that having been enjoying free over-the-air television broadcasts for over fifty years, to either by a digital converter box/receiver or to buy an expensive new digital-ready television set. There is no crying need to end the free over-the-air broadcasting of analog television signals.

The drive for all-digital television is driven by government greed and corporate greed. The federal government wants to sell off the broadcast channels that would be freed up by converting all television signals into a digital format. The private corporations want to make money selling your all the new digital television equipment that will be required to see any television at all, unless you subscribe to a cable television or satellite television service.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This whole "digitalization" is needless and unnecessary. If you would like to protest and say no to this mindless change, please write to your Representative and Senators in Congress:
