The CD-ROM that is found on the inside back cover in the Ancient Herbs and Modern Herbs book includes two hundred and sixty pages of additional information in the Word format. It is readable in both Windows and Macintosh OS formats. It includes etymologies and folknames for the more than twelve hundred medicinal herbs.

Also included are discussions of traditional herbal medicine uses by Indians (Ayurvedic), Chinese (TCM), Japanese (Kampo), and ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans. Witches's brews, witches' gardens and flying ointments are also discussed, along with strewing herbs and culinary flavorings and herbs. Glossaries of herbal chemical compounds, chemical, food, herbal and traditional medical terms and botanical and horticultural terms are also included.

A glossary of etymology definitions, terms and abbreviations is also included.
