A backyard spa for visiting Day Cats

by James K. Sayre

My backyard is about thirty-five feet wide and about fifty feet deep and is fenced in except for small openings in three corners. After putting out some dry cat food and a bowl of fresh water, I attracted a couple of local cats. At first they were quite shy and skittish, almost feral in their attitudes. Gradually they relaxed. A couple of them allow me to pet them.

My backyard contains many trees, shrubs and perennials, with small sunny spots, many shady spots and some spots in-between with dappled sunshine in the daytime. There are birds and insects to watch, too. What more could a visiting Day Cat want?

End.
