American shoes for American feet

by James K. Sayre

There is no good reason for Americans to return to the shoe-making business. For over a century, the term, "Made in USA" was a symbol of pride and good quality in manufactured goods that we sold around the world.

In the same fifteen years or so, our birthright has been sold out for corporate greed under the mantra of "free trade." It is not "free trade," it is merely corporate greed trade or fascist trade if you will. All these recent trade agreements have shipped millions of good American manufacturing jobs to Mexico, China, India and elsewhere.

When can retrieve our good manufacturing jobs by dumping the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). We can jack up tariffs against cheap foreign goods so that we can again produce our own shoes and socks. American shoes for American feet.

End.
